 So glad you stopped by today! I have some very awesome projects to share with y’all today! Some of blogging friends and I take part in a monthly “challenge” where we all take the same item and create something from it. This time around, it was plumbing pieces! At the end of this post, are the other 7 amazing projects… be sure to pop over to my friend’s blogs and see what they created! There’s some really amazing DIY that these ladies created!

I love many of the industrial shelving, lamps, and other things that are made out of plumbing pieces that you see floating around blogland and Pinterest lately. So as soon as plumbing pieces was decided, my husband and I decided on a project… shelving for our garage!

Wouldn’t this look fabulously organized in a garage? With all your seasonal, kids summer toys and a gazillion other things neatly in it? Well, one trip to Home Depot quickly put that idea down the drain. My husband priced the pvc that we’d need and it came to $171.27! I think we’ll research some other storage solutions! While my desk organizer doesn’t hold a torch to these handy shelves, it’s totally functional and pretty and I’m so happy with how it turned out!

I used one piece of PVC, spray paint, washi tape and my hot glue gun…

You could used as many “tubes” as you want for your organizer. The lengths of mine are: 4.5″, 5.5″ and 6.5″.

I used Krylon spraypaint and gave it about 3 coats of white paint. They were a little tricky to paint because the paint wanted to run down the sides because they’re rounded. I let them dry and spray painted them Blue Ocean Breeze, also by Krylon. Once, dry I used gold glittered washi tape to fancy them up a little! I then used my trustworthy glue gun to attach the tubes to each other!

I am using my handy little organizer in our kitchen cupboard actually! I am always needing pens, pencils and a scissor and up till now I had been using this little snowman cup our little guy made for me in preschool. And a plain.old.mason.jar! I think I was due for an “update” and am so happy with my new, stylin’ organizer!
