Hosted by: Joy In Our Home, Burlap And Babies, The DIY Mommy

In case you missed it, I shared this Homemade Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade recipe this week! My sister brought it to our last backyard bbq and it’s become one of my favorite drinks ever! It’s super easy to make at home and tastes so refreshing and yummy!

Ready to share what motivates you? Link up a post of something that motivates you (or others) to create or just be awesome! Our goal is for this link up to focus on craft, DIY & home posts. Each week, each hostess will feature their favorite from the previous week.  Please do not link Etsy, or other stores, giveaways, or other link parties. Link party goes up Monday and ends at 5:00pm PST on Friday.

I love this pretty Family Wall Art by Homemade Interest. The hashtags and burlap give it such a unique touch!!

I seriously need a Chalkboard Calendar like this by the talented ladies from Canary Street Crafts. I often find myself just mentally writing down something in my mind and then the day comes and I’ve forgotten! This is such a fabulous and stylin’ way to stay organized!

And now it’s your turn! I look forward to seeing what all you talented ladies have been up to! Link away…

How to Make a Quick and Easy Canada Day Sign | Joy in Our Home

Hello friends!!

It’s hard to believe June is whizzing by! Today is our last day of school… finally! We’ve only been counting down since May!

This post contains affiliate links. Please see my full disclosure here.

Do you have any Canada day (or other national holiday) tradition? We enjoy celebrating our great country every July 1st! We always head to the lake for the day, bbq and then meet friends for fireworks! This year, it’ll be a little different. I am SOO excited about my sister’s wedding this week and what a good excuse to break our little tradition!

If you don’t have any décor yet for Canada Day, I know the perfect wooden wreath you can add to your wall or front door!

You can easily make this sign in time for Canada Day…. you might even beat the load of wash that you have in the washing machine! That’s how simple it is!

Materials you’ll need:

  • wood sign
  • white paint
  • red paint
  • h, m, e wooden letters
  • maple leaf decal

Instead of painting the sign white, I decided to go for the white washed look.

If you’ve never tried this technique, I really encourage you to give it a try! Using a rag, dip the corner into the white paint and smear it horizontally across your sign. Keep doing this until you’ve done the whole sign. Let dry and in the meantime, paint the h, m and e white and the maple leaf red. Once the sign is dry, use a glue gun to attach it to the sign. And there you have it!!

I love how it turned out and it’ll look pretty on our front porch all summer long!

Here’s a couple other projects I’ve done using the white washed technique!

Thank you so much for stopping by! And Happy Canada Day!

Monthly DIY Challenge: Easiest Way to Update your Front Entry Door | Joy in Our Home

Hello friends!!

It’s one of my favorite times of the month!! It’s our monthly DIY Challenge!

This post is sponsored and contains affiliate links. For my full disclosure, click here.

This month my blogging friends and I are working with HomeRight Paint sprayers and shelters as  part of our Monthly DIY Challenge  If you’re new here, each month we get together with a group of super talented bloggers and we each make a project based on the same item or theme.  If you’d like to check out some of our past monthly challenges, here are some of my favorites: pumpkins, crates, stencils, upcycled items and dollar store items.

I am extremely excited to share this month’s challenge because I got to work with some amazing products!! If you paint a lot, big items or small, I cannot recommend a spray shelter enough!! That thing is amazing!

Normally, if I want to paint something, I’d back the vehicles out of the garage, lay down a bunch of newspapers and then spray paint my stuff right there in the wide open. And trust me, the paint doesn’t stay just in that area. I’ve learned the hard way.

We’ve been wanting to paint our front door for quite some time now. When HomeRight approached us to try their amazing products we jumped at the chance… and no doubt, the HomeRight Spray Shelter is my new go-to tool for quick and easy spraypainting!

There are a couple of different sizes of shelters and we used the larger one as we were painting our door. There is also the Table Top one which would be perfect for smaller items. It was super easy to set up and only took a couple of minutes. We had used a different brand of paint sprayer before and one of the biggest differences we noticed was how little paint this one used. The Finish Max Fine Finish Sprayer sprayed soo beautifully and evenly! Cleanup was a breeze but only because of the Rapid Clean tool that I would totally recommend for easy clean up!

The real icing on the cake though, is our gorgeous new Schlage lock! We chose the Schlage Touch™ Keyless Touchscreen Deadbolt and Accent Lever in aged bronze finish. It was an easy choice because of the many amazing features it has. The first one, is the simple fact that yours truly doesn’t have to keep track of a key anymore. Ahem! Its so nice to know when I am rushing out the door that I don’t have to wonder if I have the house key with me! Another feature that Im sure we will put to test during our Canadian winters is, that it works with gloves as well! It has an enhanced security system which brings peace of mind! I think one of the biggest things that impressed us was the easy installation. Seriously, it took minutes to install and program! Pairing the Schlage Touch Deadbolt and Camelot Handleset together gave us the stylish look and trusted product we were looking for! We couldn’t be happier with it!

The best part of any update is looking back at the before pictures and wondering why we didn’t do this long, long ago!! Our white door blended right in with our white siding and I love the statement that our blue door makes now! We used our favorite paint, CIL for this project and we are totally in love with the Approaching Storm color!!

Be sure to check out all these other amazing paint projects from my friends!

And because we love these products so much, we are giving away a Finish Max Sprayer, Rapid Clean, Tabletop and Large Shelter.  I’m crossing my fingers for y’all!!
