I’m so excited to show you my End Table Makeover today!! I love how they turned out.

Last summer I rescued a set of them from our garage sale site. They were pretty banged up but I loved the size and style of them and immediately said yes, I’ll take them! I envisioned putting a basket on the bottom for magazines or books and stuff.
Here is what they looked like before…

Yes, they needed some serious TLC! The first things I did were, removing the piece of wood on the back, as it was pretty rotten. I also removed the wooden handle. I am loving glass knobs lately and could add them to all of our furniture! heehee! Take a peek at our dresser makeover here and see the pretty glass hardware!

The color I chose is Baby Aqua from Cloverdale paint. I have loved turquoise forever it seems. When I was a teenager growing up, my mom spray painted anything and everything in my room for me (and that was before Pinterest and the whole spray painting craze!!!!). I had turquoise lamps, picture frames, my wall unit, light switch plate, bedding, etc… ok, you get the idea! I still love turquoise, but didn’t want the end tables too dark. They are going in our family room in the basement and I wanted something to brighten up the space!
First, I gave them two coats of Primer and they looked better already…

And then two coats of Baby Aqua…

I picked up 2 pieces of MDF boards from Home Depot for the back. They are super cheap… something like $1.50 each. After my husband cut to the right size, I covered them with some Hallmark wrapping paper I picked up from Walmart ![]()

My husband then used a nail gun to fasten them to the back of the end tables.

Here is what they look like with the paper attached…

And just another shot…

If they were a little bigger, I’d keep them in our living room because I love how they turned out soo much!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
It’s that time of year again…. time to start planning and booking some of our favorite campgrounds. Our family loves, loves to camp. My husband and I started going camping as soon as we were married and our love for sleeping under the stars has been passed on to our little ones. We love to get in the country and to our favorite provincial and national parks and just camp!
So, when we were planning our son’s birthday party a couple of months ago (yes, there was snow on the ground) he wanted a camping themed party. And I thought, why not? The ideas for this theme could be endless if the party was outside especially, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me! We brought the theme inside and had lots of fun! Just let your imagination go. I’d love to share some of the things I created and maybe it would inspire you to throw a camp-themed party!
Here are the invitations our little guy handed out.
“Creek Water” quenched everyone’s thirst after an afternoon of fun and games ![]()
Hotdog was the natural choice of food for a camping themed party. Who doesn’t enjoy roasting hot dogs beside a fire? Our other “Grub” was Hashbrown Casserole, Baked Beans, Veggies and Dip and lots of other treats!
Recycled tin cans were perfect for storing cutlery in!
I just removed the labels from canned fruit and it was such a fun way to serve it in
Some more treats….
Here is a picture of the cake we had to celebrate our little guy’s 7th birthday. He absolutely loved it!! I am by no means a cake decorator but I’m quite famous for brainstorming what cake I want and then presenting the idea to ….. who else?? My husband!! He has never disappointed us yet! I love the little details on this one!
I didn’t get many pictures of the games we played as I was too busy helping out and organizing and having fun too, of course! But here is a picture of the campfire I drew and colored. We played “Pin the Marshmallow on the Campfire”.
I also found these fun Bingo Cards from Christina at Inspiration for Celebration. Our little ones have the world’s largest a huge collection of stones so we used them for bingo chips.
It was also fun to make up some thank-you gifts for all the little happy campers that came to party with us! I found these “snakes” at Michaels that grow into life-sized snakes. I’ll admit it…. I am totally scared of snakes and each time I went into our bathroom and saw this snake in the bathtub it freaked me out a little! But they were a big hit with the boys especially!
It was such a fun afternoon! Whether you have little ones that love to camp or even an adult that loves the great outdoors, this is such a fun theme to celebrate someone! Hope you found some inspiration through this post. If you have any questions, please leave me a comment! I love hearing from my readers.
Hope you all have a great day!
Until next time,
Kendra

I am so excited to share this post with you! It is week 6 of the One Room Challenge and it is time to do the final reveal! I can honestly say all our hard work, late nights, one million twelve trips to Home Depot and sweat has paid off!!
I. Love. Our. “New”. Master. Bedroom.
It is everything I hoped for…. I know I’ve said this before, but this was supposed to be my summer holidays project. And here we are, only at the beginning of May and we are done! Yay, yay, yay!!!! Follow our progress in Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4 and Week 5.
So without further ado, let’s begin, shall we? This post will be all about pictures. I hope to do a more detailed post with all the sources and some tutorials next week!
No makeover would be complete without some before pictures.
The look we were aiming for was a very white, cheery and soothing look, saying goodbye to the gold, drabby (if there is such a word!) curtains, and all the brown tones. I am so, so exited with our new look! So here it is…
I love, love all the whites in our bedroom. One of my favorite features is this board and batten headboard my husband made. That man never ceases to amaze me!!! It makes such a bold statement against the grey wall and bedding.
I’m so happy how the dresser and end tables turned out. ![]()
Remember that beautiful dated, not-so-pretty coffee table I found off our garage sale site? Well, here she is with a whole new look! I love our new bench for the foot of our bed!
…. and our dresser! I keep saying I wish I would have done this a long time ago because it has made such a big difference. I especially love all the shiny, glass hardware.
Another favorite feature is this gallery wall! I could just lounge in this beautiful room and look at those sweet faces in the pictures all day long!
And just another angle …
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Linda, our fabulous and encouraging host for this challenge! Being held accountable and having to report my progress each Thursday was just what I needed for this makeover. I am tired but happy to have “met” so many fabulous and motived DIYers through this whole challenge! And thanks to you, my wonderful readers, for following along and all the encouraging and sweet comments you’ve left for me! They mean a lot!
Until next time,
Kendra
