Good Morning Friends!
I have a super exciting project to share with y’all today! Nine of my talented blog friends and I decided to do a project where we all start with the same basic “item” and all create something from it! I’m excited to check out each of these ladies’ blogs and see what amazing ideas they came up with!

As soon as we began talking about this project, ideas started swimming around in my head! Oh what to make?? For a bedroom, the living room, and I even thought about the garage or outdoors! Here is what I finally decided on…

As summer is drawing to a close, and my mind begins to wander to fall, I’m thinking of less busy and quieter days (ha! I think I’m fooling myself!!) Which brought me to the idea of this project. I love, love curling up on the couch with a good book and a throw blanket. Both of these often get left on the couch or sometimes even on the floor so I thought, what better place to store these in than a crate?? Totally practical and a little different than the usual basket or magazine rack.

First, I started out with one of these crates from Michaels. With a 40% coupon, they’re about $10. They are super sturdy and well built, too. I decided to paint ours with Americana DECOR chalk paint and the color I chose is Primitive. I gave it 2 coats and it went on so nicely!

I love numbers on different décor items and so naturally, I decided to add them to my crate!

It was super easy to stencil the letters and numbers on using a pencil and then I used a Sharpie to fill them in.

I also wanted to add wheels to the bottom, because we have hardwood floors and it would make it so easy to maneuver around. Our son (who loves, loves helping and working with little tools) fastened them on the bottom. Now his little mind is whirling with ideas of what toy or new “invention” he could add these little wheels to 😉

Here’s a recap of where I bought my supplies:
* Crate, chalk paint, stencil- Michaels
* Wheels- Home Depot
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Have you ever made anything using a crate from Michaels? I’d love to hear what you created… I always appreciate your comments!
